5. Choose Your Irons Part 2
In this tutorial, Shawn Clement will give you tips on how to pick the right golf irons for you by discussing about the lie angle, grip and shaft length. To test the correct lie angle, put some impact tape at the sole of the club and do a couple of swings on a deflector board. If the mark at the impact tape is too much toward the toe that means that the club is too flat and if it is towards the heel it means that the club is too inclined. 15. Keeping the Elbow Close
In this tutorial, Shawn Clement will teach you that you should not keep your elbows close to the body during the golf swing. If you keep your elbows close to your body you will not be able to finish the backswing, this in turn will affect your golf swing in a lot of ways. The main reason why the elbows become close to the body during the backswing is the lack of turn of the body. 16. Lesson Chip Yips and Downhill Chips
In this tutorial, Shawn Clement will teach you how to chip downhill and how to also chip when the ball is positioned below your feet. In chipping downhill, make sure that the weight is on the downhill leg and there should be no shifting of the weight from one leg to another. The right leg is slack with no weight on it. The head should be slightly behind the ball and on the backswing, push back with your left shoulders and move it down and under through the ball while maintaining its rotation on your spine angle. Letting your shoulders fall naturally into the ball and holding the finish will improve your downhill chipping abilities. The way your wrists hinge in the back swing is very much how you would hinge your wrist when you go fishing. So if you have a fishing rod in your hands here, you hinge the wrist, you cast that fishing line out there. In the backswing, the right hand rotates up, the left arm rotates down. And on through the swing it’s the opposite. The left arm rotates up and the right hand rotates down. In the backswing, fold, you want to make sure that your left arm stays extended. You don’t want the arms collapsing against the body, or collapsing in this manner. That left arm is supporting as the right arm extends down to the target. Lastly, as for grip pressure, feel like you’re holding the club just about right meaning, not too tight or to loose. You’ll notice as you swing the club, that grip pressure will intensify. Let your central nervous system take care of that for you. 4:05
