In this section, Shawn Clement makes an introduction on short chip shots.

In this section, Denis Pugh will teach you how to hit very short chip shots that are useful especially if you are very close to your target and you need to deaden the impact to the ball for better control. Instead of using your standard grip where the heel pad is on top of the grip use the putting grip and make sure that the shaft is held like it is an extension of the forearms, the only difference here is that you are leaning your arms forward and if you grip down a little bit you will feel that the but of the club is leaning against the inside part of your wrist. Use a nice fluid putting stroke while keeping your weight and hands forward.

In this section, Shawn Clement will demonstrate the modified putting swing that he taught earlier to make a short chip shot. You are using the putting grip to reduce the amount of compression on the ball and you are using your putting stroke with loft and holding on the finish.

In this section, Shawn Clement leaves a final note on making very short chip shots. When you hold the club across the palm of the hand the heel of the club is going to raise off the ground and you will chipping with the toe of the club which further deadens the impact and stop the ball.
