In this section, Steve Bishop makes an introduction and talks about the hip action during the golf swing.

The left hip and the right hip should be equally distributed over the front font so that you have a flat front foot. The left hip is just a little far behind your left heel and your right hip is out over your right toe. Doing this will enable to give you balance and hold your finish. Do not try to pull the left hip away from the ball, instead of the left hip reestablishing its position and letting the right hip turn. Turn the right hip around where the left hip is instead of twisting the hips. Do not bump forward your left hip, instead merely reestablish it to where it was at address.

On your backswing, the right hip should like be a hinge while your left hip is like a door that will revolve around that hinge. Once you have completed your backswing your left hip should be moving towards the toe of your back foot. When you reach the top of the backswing the left hip is going to go into the right like you are walking

Do not turn your left hip too far back or slide it too far forward to reestablish the left hip on the forward swing. Reestablish it about where it was during the setup and let right hip rotate around the left hip.

If your left hip is bumped slightly forward and your upper body is tilted slightly back, you are going to have the axis tilt.

The best thing to concentrate on is the push-off of the right leg or where does the right leg and the right knee go. Wherever your right leg and knee goes is going to affect where the left hip goes. There is more pressure on your right leg at the top of the back swing than there is on your left so if you push your right hip forward it is going to automatically return the left hip into its original position.
