In this section, Denis Pugh makes an introduction and presents you a situation wherein there are two golf balls; one is on the fairway sitting on top a finely mowed grass while the other is on the semi-rough. These two situations must be approached differently as a ball sitting on a semi-rough needs a different golf swing technique than a ball sitting on the fairway. The ball that is sitting on the fairway is closer to the ground compared to the one that is in the semi-rough while the one on the semi-rough is a ball that is almost like on a tee because of the fluffy semi-rough.

In this section, Denis Pugh talks about lofting the ball that is sitting on the semi-rough and how it will land. The ball will settle down on the green like it landed on porridge because of the loft of the ball.

In this section, Denis Pugh will teach you the proper golf swing on hitting the ball on the fairway. Since the ball that is on the fairway is close to the ground it is difficult to get the club into the back of the ball. On this shot, you should use the ball’s backspin to control the shot. This is more challenging compared to lofting the ball because it requires a golf swing that chops the ball like that of chopping the ball in Tennis or Table Tennis.
