A lot of time beginners struggle to remain focused and complete a proper putting shot. This is because they lift their head up in anticipation of the seeing it
go in the hole.
To do this drill place a penny on the ground, then the ball on top of the penny. Take your putting stroke only lifting your head once you see the penny.
This drill will help keep your head still during the putting stroke, which will help give the ball a more positive roll.
