In this section, Shawn Clement makes an introduction and talks about the braced, single leg drill.

The way you swing the club on one leg will make you understand that you do not want to be focusing on weight shift, you do not want to be thrusting off the backside to shift your weight on the downswing. Weight shift happens all by itself as a result of a good swing.

Practice your golf swing with only your left leg.  Set up with your left leg and swing the club back and though without stopping the only way you can stay in balance is when everything revolves around your left hip, left knee and left ankle and everything just flows around that center of gravity. This will make the bottoming out of the club always on the same spot.

You can hit the ball just a bit farther hitting it on one leg because of the tight radius of the golf swing.

Through impact you will feel that everything is braced through the inside of the left leg&you will hit the ball a little farther.

Feel very solid through the left hip, knee and ankle and make sure that you are not collapsed into that left side. You have got to get the pelvis up and stacks and you will feel how the right leg is just hanging from the hip joint. The right foot is hanging on the inside of the tip toe. That right foot position is going to help point the right hip in the proper direction. The butt swivels towards the target and the right side opens up. On the way through, use momentum to effortlessly whip the club through impact and the right just follows through on finish. There is no resistance on the right side in either direction.

The left leg is stacked and wide. Brace yourself through the inner portion of your left side that will still retain your tilt. Your head should be inside your left ankle, as you swing back and through you will see naturally how the weight stays naturally inside of your left foot. As the butt turns it will feel that the right leg is straightening a little and the left knee rotates inward right inside the left ankle.

Start practicing the one leg drill using the wedge and go up through your clubs all the way to the driver
