In this section, Shawn Clement makes an introduction and shows you a student swing analysis.
In front view, head is behind the ball, club in the center and the ball forward of the club and shoulder lower than left shoulder with just the need to spread the left leg a little wider. In side view, good alignment, good posture with just a little bit of need to forward the chest and protrude the posterior and a little more pressure driving through the arches of the feet.
Wrists are hinging well and good balance in general. In the takeaway, the arms and the club are on plane and the lower body and upper body still has not moved. The arms are quickly on the way to crash into his body. The shoulders are in a 90 degree angle but there are a lot of restrictions on the hips and there is a slight lateral movement. In the downswing, it does not really look like his whipping the golf club meaning that he does not have enough back swing to swat the club so he need to start working on his takeaway.
To improve his takeaway, in the initial part of the backswing he should be fully turned in his hips and he should already have his posterior moving toward the target and the weight should be shifting back into his left side. Get more rotation on the hips, a lot more turn and protrusion in the butt towards the target and the turning of the posterior should position the left knee a little more inside to the ball. The right hips should also get out during the backswing.
To get a lot more distance you need to abandon the club to gravity in the downswing.
