In this section, Shawn Clement and his senior golf instructor will teach you a drill that will practice your backswing. Get into your posture while holding the medicine ball with both hands and letting the hands hang below the shoulders and bend on the hips a little forward so that the hands are in front of the legs. Use some momentum and rock the ball back and forth using your hands while turning your body and then release the ball. After tossing the ball in the backswing, hold your position. Both of your hands should be equidistant from your body.
In this section, Shawn Clement will show you another drill that will improve your takeaway. This drill is the same as on the backswing drill expect that you release the ball on the takeaway and not on the backswing. Your hands should still be at the same distance to your body to signify that you are turning your body enough along with the motion of your arms.
In this section, Shawn Clement will talk about the takeaway drill and how it will help you feel the brace on your left side as you release the ball. Notice the fluid movement of the arms and the smooth transition from one swing into another; this will greatly help you in getting that rhythm in your golf swing.
In this section, Shawn Clements will demonstrate the technique that you can get from practicing the backswing and takeaway drill using a medicine ball.
